SCIA Impact Fund is run by the elected e-board of Southern California Indo-Americans at USC, supported by a distinguished Advisory Board of alumni and South Asian leaders in finance, venture capital, and private equity.
Elected annually by the SCIA membership. Accountable to the mission, not to any individual agenda. Leadership changes. The Fund endures.
Distinguished alumni and South Asian professionals in finance, venture capital, and private equity. The Advisory Board provides strategic guidance without operational authority — preserving the Fund's democratic governance while enriching its institutional judgment.
Professionals from leading investment banks, asset managers, and financial advisory firms across the South Asian ecosystem.
Investors and operators with experience deploying capital into emerging markets, early-stage ventures, and alternative asset strategies.
Advisory Board composition is announced at the start of each academic year.
Every member of the Fund operates within one of seven defined functions, each mapped to the Fund's dual mandate and institutional platform.
The e-board is elected annually by SCIA membership. At the end of each term, the outgoing board transfers the full portfolio — investments, philanthropic positions, and cash reserves — to the incoming class. The Fund's capital compounds. Its mission never resets.
Leadership is accountable to the SCIA membership, not to any individual agenda or external pressure. Capital allocation decisions are made by the e-board with Advisory Board counsel — never by committee sentiment or cultural obligation.
Associate and Intern positions open to current SCIA members each semester.
